From the age of 11 I competed at a National level of swimming, and continued to do so for another 11 years. In 2004 and 2008 I competed in the Olympic trials and in 2006 and 2010 in the Commonwealth trials. When I turned 19, I became the head of swimming at a private school where I had to deliver swimming lessons to primary aged children. I also created the curriculum for the school and coached the teachers to improve the standard of swimming instruction at the school.
While teaching there, I began my own swimming school, which I ran for two years until I made the decision to go to university.
At the age of 22 I went to Loughborough University to study Sport Science with Management BSc. While at Loughborough I worked in Nottingham as the swimming manager at a health club. I have had various other teaching and coaching swimming positions, teaching everyone from 3 month old babies to 92 year old adults! I am very enthusiastic about my work, and love teaching swimming.
