SwimWay Instructor David Ashton – London Marathon Man

On Sunday 22nd April, SwimWay Kensington head coach and site manager David Ashton completed the London Marathon in 4 hours and 56 minutes.

Battling the heat of the hottest marathon to date, Dave raised £2,187.20 for the charity Clic Sargent who support families of children and teenagers with cancer.  Five years ago David lost his own father to cancer.  His dad always said that the worst part of having cancer was seeing the children who were afflicted by the disease.

David will be working hard to complete the London Classics this year, whilst raising money for Clic Sargent.  The London Marathon was the first stage.  The next stage is the Prudential 100-mile bike ride in July, and to finish the challenge is the 2-mile swim around the Serpentine.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated in support of David and Clic Sargent!
