Yearly Major Pool Refurbishment Work – SwimWay Swim School

Every Summer we run crash courses throughout the July/August holiday period. These courses operate at a selection of our ever-popular venues. However, we will close our venues for one or two weeks. This is for a number of reasons, most importantly our yearly pool refurbishment work.

We are always working on keeping our facilities up to our high standards. Along with continuous upkeep and upgrades throughout the year, the August holidays allow us to undergo major pool refurbishment works.

Some of our pool owners prefer to undertake these works themselves. We also work in partnership with many of them, arranging full lists of works that we require for upkeep.  Usually, there are two or three venues that undergo minor to major refurbishments.  All other locations will undergo the usual cleaning, drainage, etc. This is expected to meet our required high standards, ready to go when we start the new term in September!

Standard Works Include

  • Draining the pool
  • Acid wash / water line scrub
  • Jet washing cover pits
  • Media changes
  • Refilling the pool
  • Water balancing

On top of these important major works, there may be other repairs/refurbishments that are required. These can range from large jobs such as equipment repairs/servicing (boilers, dehumidifiers and other electrics/pumps), to smaller repairs to the facilities themselves.

Our pool refurbishment work schedules are an extremely important aspect of the service we provide. So, if there is any disappointment should your favourite venue not be open on a week that you wish to swim over the holidays, we hope this post helps!
