3 Reasons to Book Children’s Pre Club Swimming Lessons
Transitioning to the competitive world of swimming can be very exciting step, but it can also be a bit overwhelming. Regulations, FINA rules, larger training groups, and competitions are vital for club swimming. That’s why we have our Pre-Club lessons at our Home Guard venue Monday to Friday evenings for an hour. To help prepare young and upcoming swimmers wanting to take the next step in their swimming journey.
1. Easy Transition
Going from a 1:1 or 1:2 private swimming lesson to our 1:5 Pre-Club lessons is a good way to help your child integrate into the world of competitive swimming more easily and comfortably. Pre-Club and Club swimming are very different environments to swim in, but exciting with new adventures!
Increased milage, longer training time, goal settings, timed sets, slightly larger groups, higher levels of stroke technique, and faster swimming. SwimWay offers all of these in our Pre-Club lessons to help your child adapt and become familiar with it all.
2. Preparation
To have children swim and compete at their best, stroke techniques are very important to maintain stroke efficiency, progression, avoid injuries, and to get the best out of their swimming. SwimWay focuses on stroke correction and development in our private 1:1 or 1:2 lessons. This then continues throughout in the Pre-Club lessons.
Preparing children to swim in competitive events ranging from sprints, middle distance to distance events is also a big factor. Sets and milage are increased to help improve endurance and efficiency. Sprints are introduced to increase stroke pace and speed. This is all integrated slowly, along with legal turns and finishes, tighter streamlines and underwater work.
Swimming sets and timed intervals help the children to better understand the pace clock. This gives them more of an idea of how long it takes them to make intervals and how much rest they get between sets. This is vital in club swimming. Higher level sculls and drills are introduced to assist strokes for better efficiency, early catch, hold and feel of the water.
3. A Fun Integrated Experience
Pre-Club swimming is undoubtedly more intensive than the standard 1:1 or 1:2 private lessons. But at SwimWay, we believe that learning and fun go hand-in-hand. Our instructors are dedicated to creating an engaging environment where each session is both productive and enjoyable. This focus on fun keeps young swimmers motivated and excited. Thus making every swim session something to look forward to rather than a chore.
Through interactive drills, group challenges, and friendly competitions, swimmers not only build essential skills but also develop camaraderie and team spirit with their peers. This dynamic, supportive setting helps children learn essential social skills and builds their confidence as they advance toward club swimming. By blending structured training with creativity and enthusiasm, we ensure that Pre-Club swimming becomes an enriching and positive experience that young swimmers love.
With SwimWay’s Pre-Club lessons, young swimmers gain the skills, stamina, and confidence needed to transition smoothly into club swimming. By focusing on technique, endurance, and the foundations of competitive training, these sessions create a well-rounded and enjoyable pathway toward more advanced swimming goals.
