Spring Term Health & Safety Training 2016

At SwimWay, our staff attend health and safety training before the start of every single term.  This is far more than the legal requirement.  David Perry, our specialised health and safety consultant, runs this termly Health and Safety training.

For our Spring 2016 training session our instructors trained in major and minor emergency procedures at our pool locations.  They were also treated to a refresher course in other situations/skills including:

  • Seizures
  • CPR
  • Airway obstructions
  • Blood loss
  • Symptoms of shock
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Fractures & dislocations

As well as safety training, our staff received a presentation from Dan Pastor (Managing Director) and Tamsin Watt (Head of Swimming) about the SwimWay programme.  They were introduced to new techniques developed through observations of our students by our senior instructors.  The head of our Parent & Baby Programme also led a discussion on the intricacies of developments in the Parent & Baby Lessons.

Safety is our highest priority and something we take very seriously at SwimWay.  Our staff training is something we are extremely proud of.  We believe our instructors are of the highest quality, and their passion to teach and continuously learn is something that makes them a cut above the rest. We are very excited about how our instructors, students and company continue to grow.
