SwimWay Instructor Training Summer Term 2025
At SwimWay, we take pride in maintaining the highest standards of instruction, safety, and communication. As part of our commitment to excellence, we begin every new school term in the same way. With our termly SwimWay instructor training meeting and Emergency First Aid Training session.
This important event is held on the first Sunday of each new term. It brings together all instructors, both longstanding team members and recent additions to the SwimWay family.
The meeting was captured by Jordana Barale—our gifted photographer and swimming instructor.
A Warm Welcome!

The meeting was opened with a heartfelt welcome from our founder, Dan Pastor. Dan took the time to share updates and outline expectations for the upcoming Summer Term. Thus setting a positive and focused tone for the weeks ahead.
New Social Media Specialist
This term, we had the pleasure of welcoming our new Social Media Manager and special guest speaker, Laura Starbuck, to the SwimWay Team!

Laura delivered an insightful and engaging presentation. She spoke about the power of social media and its role in connecting SwimWay to our broader community. She emphasized that social media is often the first point of contact for many parents when choosing a swimming provider. Through thoughtful storytelling, authentic engagement, and consistent posting, we can convey the heart of the SwimWay experience. Professional, personalised, and fun swimming instruction in a safe environment.
Instagram, she noted, is currently the leading platform for parents seeking extracurricular activities for children aged 12 and under. To harness this powerful tool, Laura encouraged us to showcase the people behind the SwimWay brand. Highlight lessons in action, share meaningful success stories, and celebrate the accomplishments of our young swimmers. By doing so, we build trust, demonstrate our values, and foster a strong connection with our community. We are excited to embrace our new social media strategy. We’re looking forward to sharing our journey with clients and followers alike.
To support SwimWay in building its brand, we are inviting parents and guardians who are open to participating in a short video interview. If you are interested and willing to take part, please contact the SwimWay office.

In addition to these exciting developments, Bookings Coordinator and swimming instructor Kirsty McLauchlan proudly announced the launch of SwimWay’s first-ever 3-Hour Summer Swim Camp & Outdoor Games program. First Aid Training
The meeting concluded with a practical Emergency First Aid Training session led by David Ashton, our experienced Health & Safety Consultant and instructor. This essential component of our quarterly meeting ensures all instructors are confident and well-prepared to handle any emergency situations that may arise during lessons. David’s thorough and hands-on approach helps reinforce protocols and build the readiness required to maintain a safe and effective teaching environment.
