SwimWay Instructor Competes at the Masters SE Regional Championships

In January 2018, David Ashton (Kensington site manager and head coach) competed at the Masters SE Regional Championships.  The main goal of this meet is to qualify for the British Masters Swimming Championships. We are happy to say that David’s results proved incredibly successful!

IN HIS INDIVIDUAL RACES HE WON 4 GOLD MEDALS, 2 SILVER AND 2 BRONZE. CONSEQUENTLY, HE QUALIFIED FOR THE BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS IN EACH RACE.

Over the course of the weekend, David competed in 8 individual races and 2 relays.  In his individual races, he won 4 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze. Consequently, he qualified for the British Championships in each race. Additionally, a particular highlight for him was winning the 200-meter butterfly. This is quite possibly the hardest swimming race there is!

Our hearty congratulations to David for such an amazing accomplishment. Good luck for the upcoming British Championships!
