Spring Term SwimWay Health & Safety Training 2017

At SwimWay we focus on safety. Our staff attend health and safety training at the start of every term. We are a team with many years of experience teaching children to swim. Thus, we know that you must be prepared for any incident, especially when it involves children.

We allocate a considerable amount of resources to create health and safety excellence in our SwimWay team. This prepares each instructor to prevent accidents and react if there is ever a need to do so.

SwimWay safety training is monitored by the STA and fully CPD certificated. This program is something we are extremely proud of. Certainly, it makes us stand out from other swimming schools. These training sessions are ideal for the SwimWay Team to continue their commitment to safety. It also helps us maintain our high teaching standards by sharing information on policies and techniques.

This term’s training broke the team up into three small groups. This results in more intense, focussed training sessions:

  • Company founder Dan talked to our instructors about SwimWay’s responsibilities to children and parents.
  • Head of Swimming, Tamsin discussed Swimming Teaching Practices. This is an excellent opportunity for our instructors to pass on information. It always raises discussions on new teaching techniques for our SwimWay methodology.
  • Speciality Health and Safety Consultant Dave Perry took our instructors through procedures and actions for any incidents that may occur.  He ran scenarios designed specifically around our unique private locations and lessons.

Following the training session, the team went to the local for a drink and a chat. This is always an important part of these get-togethers as we do not have many opportunities for regular face-to-face interaction.
