Autumn Term 2020 Onwards – SwimWay COVID19 Measures

Our previous blog post covered our Summer Holiday COVID19 measures. Now, following five weeks of safe and successful holiday courses, we are ready to reopen term time lessons again! Next term starts on Tuesday the 1st of September and our Autumn Term 2020 COVID19 measures are all in place for each of our venues.  These Guidelines will remain in place until further notice.  Minor changes may occur and will be communicated to all clients during booking or prior to the start of the course.

“I just wanted to say how fantastic you guys have been with the swimming lessons during the pandemic. It is brilliant. It is so secure. It went way beyond what was required, but that’s the SwimWay team for you! I think it is brilliant what you guys have done, well done!”

Last month, the government announced they would allow indoor pools to reopen on the 25th of July. The news came as a huge relief to the industry. We at SwimWay had already been preparing to start two weeks prior to that date, so we were very much ready to go. Risk assessments and COVID19 operating procedures were all completed. We had a staff of instructors eager to get back to teaching!

Now, we are even more prepared than ever! We have been continuously monitoring and updating our guidelines over the past few weeks to ensure the safest and cleanest possible environments for our clients and students. We have completed all risk assessments and guidelines for venues that were not running holiday courses. We have also updated all venue policies and procedures to include the parent and baby lessons.

We have sent full policies and procedures to all clients. If you have not received yours, contact us and we will resend right away.

Booking Processes

  • We have honoured all 1:2 classes booked prior to COVID-19 but we offered any open spaces as 1:1 only
  • The only exception to this was booking siblings of a similar age/ability to swim together, in which case we offered 1:2 lessons
  • Parent & baby and group adult lessons have been minimised from 1:5 or 1:4 groups to no more than 1:3 in a class

Guidelines: Main Points To Note

  1. If at all possible, children should arrive already changed under their clothes/towel/bathrobe.  If this is not possible, you are welcome to change at the venue, but please note you will only have five minutes to do so
  2. Five minutes prior to your lesson start you will be permitted into the facilities.  Please do not arrive any earlier than ten minutes before your lesson starts
  3. Maximum one adult per student booked in.  If possible, please do not bring any siblings, but if unavoidable, one sibling max will be allowed
  4. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide showering facilities until further notice. Please ensure you shower at home before and after your lessons
  5. Should we receive advice from the government to that doesn’t allow us to run the lessons, we will either cancel part, or the whole of your booking (dependent on when we are able to restart).  You will receive a credit to the full value of the cancellation/s. Credits will be available for use for any term-time or holiday courses for up to two years after any cancellation occurs as per clause 4.5 of our terms

We are so excited to start our weekly lessons again for the first time since March! Should you have any queries or concerns do not hesitate to get in touch! We are on hand to help and to continue to promote

See you next week!
