After a wonderful summer break, the SwimWay team reunited for our Autumn Term Instructor Training. As always, at the beginning of every term, we refresh health and safety knowledge, share updates, and strengthen team spirit. This term’s meeting was also beautifully captured by our talented photographer and much-loved instructor, Jordana Barale. To begin, our founder, Dan Pastor, opened with a heartfelt greeting, immediately setting a positive tone for the term.
Next, we welcomed our colleague and well-known instructor, Alberto Baggio, as our inspiring guest speaker. Since recently completing his Psychology studies, Alberto was eager to share fascinating insights on the power of first impressions. Furthermore, he explained how perceptions form, the influence of biases, and practical ways to create stronger student connections. From positive body language to age-tailored communication, Alberto reminded us that small details can leave lasting impressions. Moreover, in true Alberto style, his talk was both educational and fun, keeping everyone engaged and inspired, just like he does in the pool.
Of course, no SwimWay training would be complete without health and safety practice. This time, under the guidance of Dave Perry, our Head of Health & Safety, we practiced CPR and first aid. Importantly, we trained across scenarios with babies, children, and adults, ensuring instructors remain fully prepared for emergencies. As a result, this hands-on refresher reinforced our commitment to safe, enjoyable lessons for every student.
At SwimWay, we’re committed to continuous growth by supporting our instructors with regular training and delivering the very best swimming lessons in a safe, supportive environment. With new classes launching and refreshed skills under our belts, we’re ready to dive into a fantastic Autumn Term. Here’s to another successful season, see you at the pool!
