Guiding Principles
We align our approach with Sport England’s definition of equality and diversity in sport, which means:

• Developing a culture that values and enables everyone’s full involvement.
• Creating opportunities for all to participate – whether as swimmers, coaches, volunteers, or administrators.
• Working to remove barriers that prevent underrepresented groups from taking part.

We also support British Swimming’s Equality and Diversity Policy, which commits to ensuring that no applicant, employee, volunteer, member, service user, or partner is discriminated against on the basis of the Protected Characteristics set out in the Equality Act 2010.

Our Responsibility
SwimWay is dedicated to ensuring that everyone can enjoy swimming in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or abuse.

• All SwimWay staff and members share responsibility for challenging discriminatory behaviour and promoting equality of opportunity.
• Any incident of discriminatory behaviour will be taken seriously and addressed in line with SwimWay’s disciplinary procedures.
