I am a Swim England Level 2 Swimming Coach and a British Triathlon Level 2 Coach with over a decade of experience teaching swimming across clubs, schools, and competitive squads.  I began my career as a P.E. teacher and retired from that role in 2007 to focus fully on swimming instruction (since 2016) and triathlon coaching (since 2011).

Over the years, I’ve developed my own style and unique approach to teaching children how to swim that ensures they successfully progress through every stage of a programme.  My method is structured, engaging, and tailored to each child’s age and ability, with a clear pathway that builds confidence, skill, and enjoyment in the water.

Working across swimming clubs, school programmes, and squad environments for the past 10 years has helped me refine a four-year progression model. This system guarantees that every child who completes it is fully prepared to pass trials and gain entry into London’s or international swimming clubs — where they can begin a professional sporting career. This is a promise I proudly stand behind and one that gives parents peace of mind.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in FUNdamentals and core aquatic skills. I constantly ask myself:

• Will the lesson be interesting, challenging, and enjoyable?
• Does it suit the age and abilities of the learners?
• Is there variety, continuity, and balance?

I’ve had the privilege of learning from top coaches throughout my career, and I strive to create a calm, focused, and rewarding environment for every student. Whether working with beginners or advanced swimmers, I tailor each session to unlock progress and confidence.

Outside the pool, I’m an all-round sports enthusiast — tennis, skiing, and basketball keep me active — and I regularly compete in open water swimming and Ironman triathlon events across Europe. I’m also a proud father of three and love spending time with my family.
