To say the least, the government announcement this week was extremely frustrating. Allowing pubs and cinemas to open up to a maximum indoor capacity of 70 people, and not gyms or swimming pools seems extremely short-sighted. This is why SwimWay supports the Swim England #OpenOurPools Campaign.

Over the past month, we have worked extremely hard on our COVID-19 risk assessments, action plans and H&S policies for our summer holiday courses. We are confident that we can safely proceed with lessons as soon as we are allowed to do so. SwimWay simply cannot be put in the same category as larger pool operators (such as leisure centres or gyms).
There is a clear case for our small operation inside private homes. If we are unable to run lessons we will, of course, offer the opportunity to reschedule bookings. Any credit will be available to use for any other future courses up until the end of August 2022. Failing that, we will provide a refund if the alternative dates are not suitable.
The government is openly talking about a further easing of restrictions around Mid-July. We will keep our clients updated as usual. There is apparently another announcement coming up next week. When they eventually open up gyms hopefully, swimming pools will be included.
In the meantime, our sincerest thanks to all our valued clients for your continued understanding and support during these strange times.
