The SwimWay Team
SwimWay instructors and office staff. London's top instructors, specifically trained in the unique SwimWay methodology. A friendly and helpful office team with an understanding of the industry
At SwimWay we put a huge emphasis on recruiting the best instructors and office staff. We understand the importance of the bond between instructor and student, especially for young children. We also know how much it helps to hear a friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the phone.
While sometimes unavoidable, we strive to minimise the turnover of instructors from term to term. We hire only those with at least two years experience. We also pay above the market average for their talent and commitment. All our instructors have worked in established swimming programmes across the globe. This brings a solid background in swimming teaching to the team. Additionally, it helps us to continuously improve our own methodology. DBS checks are updated regularly, as well as insurance and qualifications. We also provide health and safety training before the start of every term. This training is consistently supervised and monitored throughout the year.
Take a look at our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages for some fun images and videos from the team. We are incredibly proud of the SwimWay instructors and office staff. The standards we set are constantly met and raised time and time again. We have no doubt that from the first time you speak to us, you will see that SwimWay is the only way!

I have a degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Sao Paulo-Brazil, and a Master of Science in International Business Economics from the University of Westminster in London. I am also a fully qualified UK Level 2 swimming instructor.
In 2005 I identified a niche market following the growing number of private swimming pools being built in London. SwimWay was then created, aiming to provide an alternative type of swimming lesson for families who were not necessarily satisfied with the existing swimming programmes of public leisure centres and/or health clubs.
The company has since become a leading home visit Swimming School in London, providing swimming lessons to children and adults in exclusive private developments, homes, schools and gyms, as well as a number of sites open to general public.
Before starting SwimWay, I worked as a swimming instructor for many years across London. Along with my duties as Managing Director of the company, I still teach every day, as I feel that only by continuous teaching can I sustain an on-going improvement of SwimWay’s program which is vital to the company’s success.

I can’t remember learning to swim although my father tells me I cried a lot when I first started! By the time I was 11 years old I was swimming for the City of Bristol at County and National level. Training involved swimming before and after school and that, along with all the other sports that I enjoyed and competed in, compounded my passion for sport.
I continued swimming throughout my adult life, fitting it alongside my work as an assistant in the City for 11 years. I have worked at SwimWay since 2010, and enjoy the combination of working in the office as well as teaching swimming. I can’t wait to get to the pool to teach at the end of a busy morning in the office!

I have been working for SwimWay since 2010, both as the Facilities Manager and swimming instructor…
I have a degree in Law and worked for various law firms for over five years until I decided to shift my career toward education. I had the opportunity to work for primary and secondary international schools both as a teacher and class assistant, increasing my experience and knowledge which eventually led to me becoming the Library Manager of the British School in Brazil. I moved to London to undertake a Masters Degree in Cultural Studies at City University London, as I am truly passionate about education and culture.
Swimming has always been my favourite sport, and I was part of the swimming team back in school. I believe that swimming is not only a vital life skill, but it complements a range of other sports such as sailing, diving, scuba diving, water polo, water skiing, triathlon, as well as enabling a fun activity that can be enjoyed during family holidays.

I have always been very active and into sports, which encouraged me to take a degree in Physical Education. I started swimming when I was 4 and competed in Brazil from the age of 10 until my early 20’s.
I have always loved swimming. I have been teaching for over 10 years now, and haven’t lost the passion! Over the years working as a swimming teacher, I have been lucky enough to experience teaching all levels in swimming coaching and technique, and also to take qualifications in such levels. I have been teaching babies and toddlers, children, adults and people with special needs of all ages.

My swimming career began in 2004, teaching in a popular swimming pool in the north of Italy. I worked with all ages and skill levels, from babies to adults, beginners to advanced. I was then given the chance to move into a coaching position, and I loved it from the instant I started! I spent nearly four years in this role, primarily in charge of the age group squad, with very successful results in local, regional and national competitions.
Looking for new experiences and challenges, in 2009 I moved to Madrid where I spent the following four years teaching at two swim schools, learning and developing different methods and approaches. It was there that I also obtained the Spanish “RFEN – Level 1 in Coaching Swimming”.
Since May 2013, I have been living and working in London. I have found a thriving swimming environment in this city, full of opportunities to enhance my knowledge and career. I joined SwimWay in 2014 after obtaining the “ASA – Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics”. In the same year, I completed an internship as coach assistant for Chelsea and Westminster Swimming Club, and started coaching for Barnes Swimming Club. A year later I acquired the “ASA – Level 2 in Coaching Swimming”. In order to further enrich my coaching tools, in 2017 I successfully achieved the “ASCA – Level 3” for the American Swimming Coaches Association.
I am a very motivated person, reliable and enthusiastic in what I do. My purpose is to help my students feel safe, comfortable and confident in the water, providing them with all the tools they need to master and control the aquatic environment!

From the age of 11, I competed at a National level of swimming and continued to do so for another 11 years. In 2004 and 2008 I competed in the Olympic trials and in 2006 and 2010 in the Commonwealth trials. When I turned 19, I became the head of swimming at a private school where I had to deliver swimming lessons to primary aged children. I also created the curriculum for the school and coached the teachers to improve the standard of swimming instruction at the school. This led me to become more interested in schooling policies and procedures, so I took the "Time To Listen" unit with Swim England, which I found fascinating!
While teaching at the school, I began my own swimming school, which I ran for two years until I made the decision to go to university.
At the age of 22, I went to Loughborough University to study Sports Science with Management BSc. While at Loughborough I worked in Nottingham as the swimming manager at a health club.
Wanting to be more involved with the managerial side of the operation, I completed the Level 3 Plant Room Operator course. This has come in extremely handy with my role as a Site Manager for SwimWay.
I have had various other teaching and coaching swimming positions, teaching everyone from 3-month-old babies to 92-year-old adults! I am very enthusiastic about my work and love teaching swimming.

Sport is a major passion in my life! With more than 15 years experience in the Fitness Industry, I thoroughly enjoy the fact that I get to live and work with that passion every day.
Water is my element. I have been beach lifeguard in Brazil, a surfer, a triathlete and a swimming teacher. I take immense pleasure from every moment that I can spend in the water, especially in open water swimming. I also love to keep fit by cycling and running, and find it even more enjoyable when I can share all these sporting experiences with my family and friends!
I am a fully qualified level 2 swimming teacher, and have also worked been working as a personal trainer. I have worked with a vast number of clients, with many different needs, all of which I feel I have met, while surpassing expectations. Every new challenge is a gift, and my joy in seeing my students progressing and having fun during the process is something that cannot be replaced.

I have had a passion for sports and physical activities from a very early age. I have been swimming since I was a baby, and have always loved the water. This natural passion led me to take a degree in Physical Education in Brazil.
My training, and experience thereafter, gave me the opportunity to work with children of all ages, as well as children with special needs. This gave me a huge amount of experience and confidence in helping my students achieve and progress in their physical education.
I spent a year in Australia in 2014, where I furthered my training (Swim Australia Teacher, Royal Life Saving, First Aid and Cardionary Resuscitation and Bronze Medallion Courses) whilst working as a swimming teacher. It was a huge learning curve for me, and has intensified my passion for this career.
This is what I love the most in this world: working with children, sports and water!

Swimming has always played a central role in my life. I have been a member of the Portuguese Swimming Federation for over 20 years, and I have swum competitively for the Portuguese National Team on many occasions.
My unwavering passion for swimming led me to pursue a career in teaching/coaching. In 2009 I graduated with a degree in High Performance Sports Training in swimming. In addition I have extensive experience teaching all ages and abilities. I see myself as a great communicator; a positive and enthusiastic person that enjoys the challenge of teaching people how to swim. I love helping my students improve with every lesson utilising knowledge, experience and pleasure.
I believe SwimWay provides the best conditions for us to teach, and consequently for the young swimmers to learn. The private and semi-private classes establish a wonderful atmosphere between teacher and swimmer which ultimately results in highly positive outcomes.
Everything that I am today, I owe to swimming.

Swimming has been part of my life since I was a little girl, where I swam at a national level in my native country of Bulgaria. Since 2012, I have been teaching swimming in London and have a true passion for helping children learn to swim. I believe swimming lessons offer children a very rewarding, enjoyable activity whilst also providing a skill that could one day save their life.
I am a great believer in giving back to the community, and charity work. In 2015, I participated in charity swim events such as Swimathon and The Great Newham London Swim, swimming 2.5K and 1 Mile, to support charities devoted to curing cancer.
I am a fully qualified Level 2 STA teacher and a member of the Swimming Teaching Association. I have taught a great many children to swim using various different teaching styles, but I firmly believe the SwimWay Methodology is the most effective. It is wonderful to see the children thrive in our lessons!

It was when I was 7 years old that I first swam in the sea in my home country of Brazil. The moment I touched the water, I felt an instant connection, and my passion for swimming was born!
Over the years I improved my abilities with continuous lessons, which led me to start to take part in Regional competitions from the age of 13. My training deepened my love for the sport, and my days started revolving around an active lifestyle. The discipline and challenges I experienced when training and competing taught me some important lessons on how to approach and handle any difficult situations in my life.
I have been working as a swimming teacher with various swim schools since 2006. I have found the SwimWay method provides a fun and nurturing environment, within a consistent and structured class. An important combination for a balanced lesson. The small, personal classes provide the instructors more space and opportunity to give each student the attention they need. I believe this methodology helps students progress faster, and watching this development gives a wonderful feeling of satisfaction to me as a teacher.

I was just 6 years old when I started swimming for one of the major teams in Portugal, SCP (Sporting Clube de Portugal). It all started with a school visit to the club, after which I received an invitation to not only be part of their swimming team, but also to compete against other swimmers internationally. My 10 years of training and competing for SCP taught me about the importance and spirit of this sport. It also helped me develop an interest for sharing my knowledge and skills with others.
At the age of 16, I started working as a swimming instructor at a prestigious venue in the heart of Lisbon, teaching learners of many different levels and ages. This was excellent experience for me. I felt like there would never be anything more fulfilling than having the opportunity to teach my passion. In London, I worked for Swimming Nature for 4 years, teaching babies, children and adults. It was here that I built on my new experiences with one to one and two to one lessons, but also continued with group lessons. The different methods I have worked with over the years have shown me that one to one and two to one lessons are far better ways of achieving success, and these are the methods used by SwimWay.
The role as a swimming instructor and my other life experiences have helped me develop many important interests and skills. This includes being able to support and instruct people with special needs in many ways of their lives. It is because of this that I am also currently taking a degree on Special Education Needs.

My love of the water has been passed down from my dad who was a great surfer and national competitor in Australia. I know that my sister and I learnt to swim by holding onto his legs as he kicked us off so we could paddle back to him.
I took to competing in the open water many years ago when the city was becoming too hectic for me. Submerging myself under water always brought me a sense of great peace. It is gentle and quiet and this is how I would like all children and adults to experience the water.
I am so grateful for all my competitive training, because I know many parents struggle with simply keeping their children safe at the beach during holidays. In my youth I was on swim teams, learnt to body surf on the Victorian Coast with my mates, and went on to coach kids when I was at university. Since then I have gained over 8 years of experience in teaching and training beginners to advanced learners and Masters swimmers. I am trained in working with a diverse range of individuals including babies and age group swimmers. I am interested in applying my knowledge of water safety and swimming skills in order to equip my students with a safe and happy aquatic experience.
I notice that children are so much happier after a day of swimming and exercise (and wiped out, so bedtime is a breeze!). I’ve been lucky enough to have taught my little nephew from the age of 3 months and his travels to pools and beaches all over the world has been a joy to witness!

I have always been into sport, and swimming has been a passion of mine from a young age. I was lucky enough to swim competitively as a member of the national squad team, but my journey came to a pause when I decided to dedicate my time to my Dance degree.
However my overwhelming love for swimming led me to complete my ASA qualifications, and I have never looked back. My understanding of health and well-being have been a great contribution to my teaching style; I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. Development is more natural when the students are excited to come to class – this is something I aim to bring to each lesson. I always do my best to transmit my passion because there is nothing more rewarding than hearing a little one call your name with a smile on their face – just to show you they can finally perform the skill you have been teaching them!
I am also an Open Water Diver, an ex-county runner and a local league netball player; but my first love still calls to me – so here I am! I not only feel at home in the water, I feel free.

As long as I can remember, my biggest passions in life have been swimming and music. I have been very fortunate to be able to follow these passions into my professional life by becoming a teacher of both!
My swimming experience started as a lifeguard and a short teaching stint in Australia in 2011. When I moved to London in 2012, I continued with life-guarding, but I quickly found that being a swimming instructor is one of the best jobs for people like me; who love to teach and enjoy interacting with people. So I updated my qualifications to fall in line with UK requirements, and spent the past three years teaching for various London-based swimming companies and clubs. In 2019 I also attained my level 2 award in aquatic teaching for baby and pre-school. This was so I could start teaching parent and baby lessons alongside my other classes.
I have taught a lot of children and adults to swim using numerous teaching styles, but I have to say I strongly feel the SwimWay Methodology is the most effective for the children. The environment and the link between the instructor and the swimmer are unique, and every lesson is an adventure of learning for the kids. SwimWay is the smile and the gratification that children need to make their days happier!

My youth was spent in Portugal, where I grew up by the sea, instilling in me an innate love for the water from a very early age. I was an incredibly active child, participating in many different types of sports and activities. My first swimming lesson was when I was 2 years old, and apparently I took to it almost instantaneously! Since then my love for water and all water sports has grown and grown…
My hobby soon became a passion and led me to study and eventually graduate in 2007 with a Degree in Physical Education and Health from the Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias University in Lisbon. Soon after graduating, I got my first job as a swimming teacher and fitness instructor. I continued to teach and train for several years until I moved to London. Here I have been happily teaching physical education at Highbury Quadrant Primary School as well as swimming lessons for various clubs/schools.
I am a highly competent and enthusiastic teacher with a proven ability to help my students achieve goals with the right attitude and motivation. I am very dedicated to everything I do, utilising discipline, determination and fun in my classes to create a positive learning environment for all.

I have had a love for the water since I was first introduced to the environment as a baby. Apparently, I took to it like a fish from the first moment my parents nervously waded into the pool with me in their arms!
I have always had a natural affinity for all sports, but swimming has always been a true passion of mine. I enjoy keeping fit and active, and swimming is a huge part of that lifestyle for me.
This appetite for all things aquatic led me to pursue a career in swimming instruction. I have been lifeguarding and teaching since 2015 and have never looked back! I have been extremely happy in the positions I have held, teaching and coaching children and adults of all abilities. Working with SwimWay is a highlight for me, as I always want to represent a company that I believe in and am proud of.
I am extremely dedicated and reliable in what I do. Every day I look forward working with my students to help them feel safe, comfortable and confident in the water, and to develop their swimming abilities beyond what they ever thought possible!

Swimming has always been a part of my life. From my first dip with my mum in parent and baby lessons through to competing against some of London’s top swimmers at the London Youth Games.
My love for the sport has continued throughout my adult life too. I competed for my University at BUCS at Sheffield’s Podge Forge International Sports Centre. I completed my National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, as well as my Swimming Teaching qualifications, which I have used to teach children of all ages and abilities since 2016. I also take part in sponsored swims for several fantastic charities such as Marie Curie. I will always find time to serve my passion for this activity!
My previous office experience prior to SwimWay was working for Nuffield Health, specifically in the health and wellbeing department, providing healthcare plans for major international banks such JP Morgan, Bank of Tokyo and RBS. I am excited with the opportunity to work in a smaller office environment, where we work hard together to ensure a positive, productive and sociable working environment!
I truly feel that SwimWay’s Methodology shows continued success and development for all our students, learning to swim in a focused environment that provides excellent results. Selling something I believe in helps tremendously!

I was born by the sea in the city of Riccione in Italy. Living so close to the ocean, I grew up with a natural love and affinity for the water, swimming as often as possible from an early age.
When I was 9, I began to swim competitively for Polisportiva Comunale Riccione, one of the major teams in Italy. I continued with this throughout my school years, enjoying every minute I spent fuelling my competitive spirit!
When I moved to London in 2015 I decided to develop my passion for swimming towards sharing it with others. I completed my ASA swimming teaching qualifications and immediately began teaching a wide range of ages and abilities.
I am positive, enthusiastic, and very dedicated to everything I do. Seeing my lovely students grow in confidence, enjoy the water and gain skills through exercise is a fantastically rewarding experience. It is something I never grow tired of and is the reason I love my job!

Sports and being active have always played a very important part in my life. I cannot imagine going through even one day without enjoying some kind of physical activity! When I was a child, I participated in every sport I could at school, and swimming was a huge part of that – one of my favourite pastimes. It has remained this way to this day!
When I arrived in the UK in 2016, I swiftly completed my swimming teaching and lifeguarding qualifications to allow me to expand upon this passion. I have been teaching babies, children and adults of all ages/abilities ever since! My experience working for a few different companies has exposed me to several different methodologies and teaching styles, which has helped mould me into the instructor I am today.
For me, swimming is quite simply one of the most enjoyable sports there is. I believe everyone is capable to learn swim if the teacher puts in the right amount of effort and quality into the lessons, as well as tailoring to each student’s individual needs and personalities. I always try to create a fun, kind and comfortable environment for my students, which I find helps them to focus and learn better.
Above all, I really just enjoy teaching! Working with my students and seeing their improvements is extremely rewarding. I am a positive and enthusiastic person, and I relish a challenge!

I was born and raised in the small town of Reggio Calabria in Italy. Like all small towns, our tight-knit community was a major influence, instilling in me a deep empathy and understanding for those around me. I believe this is one of the things that led me to study and gain my Diploma in Education in 2005.
I started to swim when I was nine years old, and water was instantly a natural environment for me. My passion for the sport led me to start my swimming teaching career in 2010, coaching in a swimming pool in the South of Italy for 4 years. During this time, I worked hard to develop a learning environment that was stimulating, fun and diverse. I try to ensure every single lesson I teach is accommodating to all people and their different learning styles.
In 2014, seeking new experiences, I expanded my professional field into customer services. I also started to practice, and later teach yoga. I am very passionate about using yoga to bring wellbeing, health and fitness to my students.
In 2018 I found myself missing my time as a swimming teacher, and began teaching in a swimming pool in the North of Italy, learning new methodology and approaches to the skill. I then moved to London and am extremely excited to have found a place in the SwimWay team! Every day I look forward to seeing the progressive improvement of my students in the water, and of course having fun!

Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. I started lessons at a very young age and was lucky enough to swim competitively for Cardiff at County level during my school years.
In 2015, I completed my qualifications and started teaching as a volunteer in local pools. Teaching swimming quickly became a passion for me. I found it to be incredibly rewarding work which I pursued with great fervour!
In late 2016 I left Wales to travel and spent two years living and working in Australia. Swimming is a massive part of the culture over there and I continued to teach regularly as a Swim Australia qualified instructor.
My favourite part of being a swimming instructor is watching the confidence of children and adults grow with each lesson. This has helped me build genuine relationships based on trust and having fun!
Outside of teaching, I travel back and forth to Wales as often as possible to spend time with my family and friends. I still enjoy travelling and I am always looking to experience new countries and cultures as much as I can. Preferably staying near a beach whenever possible!

Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as l can remember. I grew up near a lake, so I was around water from a very young age. I started attending classes at school, and quickly moved to competitive swimming.
I spent 12 years swimming competitively, the highlight of which was attending the Lithuanian national team championships. I can never spend too much time away from the water, so I was also part of the Lithuanian national sprint canoeing (kayak) team! There I participated in a number of championships worldwide and became a Lithuanian canoe sprint champion.
Being very active and interested in sports led me to take a degree in Physical Education. In 2015 I graduated from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. I then continued my education in London, and in 2017 I completed a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. All the while, keeping up with my training and swimming.
After my studies I completed the “ASA Level 2 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF)” swimming teaching qualifications. Since then I have been teaching swimming to children to adults of all ages and abilities in school classes and individual lessons.
I have a deep interested in understanding human physical performance skills. When teaching, I like to track the progress of each of my students. I want to ensure that everyone is happy with the pace of the activities and perform as well as their body allows.
I am a positive, enthusiastic and genuine teacher. I try to ensure that every one of my students leaves the class with a positive mindset and feeling more confident with what they achieve. I believe that learning to swim doesn’t have to be a hard work, it can also be fun, relaxing and rewarding activity that brings joy to both me and to my students!

I have always been an extremely active person. I was constantly playing sports as a child, fuelling in me a healthy competitive spirit. I believe this spirit led me to complete my Bachelor’s in Physical Education at the University Estácio de Sá in Rio de Janeiro.
Growing up in a seaside town, I learned to swim at a very early age. This early start certainly gave me a boost with my competitive swimming in my teenage years.
I have always enjoyed swimming and being in the water. So, just after I started my degree in 2014, I also began my career as a swimming instructor, as well as a personal trainer and coach. I had a wonderful time teaching children of all abilities and ages in various clubs and gyms. I also had some excellent opportunities to work with children with disabilities.
Once I finished my degree I decided to move to England. I updated my qualifications to fall in line with UK standards by completing my ASA level 1 and 2 courses. Since then I have been lucky enough to continue doing what I love in this wonderful aquatic environment. I can’t wait to meet my students and share with them my love of water and swimming!

My passion for swimming began at the tender age of 5. From the first moment I entered the water, I was in my element! I was swimming almost every single day throughout my youth. When I turned 15, I began to compete professionally, and I continued to do so for a further 17 years.
My years of training in the Venezuelan Federation of Water Sports allowed me to compete in many different international events. For me, the highlight was when I represented my country at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. An amazing experience that will remain with me forever.
Following my retirement from competitive swimming, I travelled to the USA, where I attained my First Aid Certification in Florida. I then moved to London where I underwent my ASA Swimming Teacher, as well as further rescue and safety training. I also started studying The Art & Science of Coaching as well as Sports Nutrition with Athlete 365 (the community for Olympians and elite athletes).
As you can see, swimming is my life. I have an innate passion for the sport. I feel the love I have sharing my knowledge and experience with my students translates into fun and progressive lessons for all ages and abilities!

I have tried a variety of sports over the years and swimming is just one which captured my heart. I have been swimming from the very early age of two years. From my very first dip in the pool, you simply could not get me out of the water!
I swam competitively in my home country of South Africa from the age of 5 until I was 18 years old. My love of the sport instilled a desire in me to help others achieve the same passion and goals.
Thus, began my training! I took multiple courses to become qualified as a swimming instructor. After two years of teaching children and adults, I decided to progress further. I gained my parent and baby teaching qualifications and started teaching babies from the age of 6 months.
My learning process is not over though. I always look forward to gaining more knowledge and expanding my quality of teaching, especially at SwimWay.
Watching the progress and achievements of my students truly is the light of my life!

I am a graduate of Sports Science and Physical Education at Brno University, Czech Republic (2006). At the age of ten, I started swimming with my local club. By fifteen, I was training eleven times per week, competing successfully at the Czech National Junior Championships. I have such amazing memories of those early years – such a special time for me!
I arrived in London in 2006. Since then I have worked as a swimming coach and instructor with various companies and schools. My aim is to put my excellent technical knowledge to best use, to help all my students achieve the highest possible level of success in their swimming.
These years of experience, success and fun in the pool has allowed me to work extremely effectively in the water with my students. I work hard to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment and provide technically clear demonstrations. When they feel comfortable and happy and are able to visualize what it is they are trying to achieve, progression in the lessons flows beautifully!
See you at the pool!

I have been swimming since before I can remember! My current lifestyle as a Swimming Teacher and Aqua Aerobics Instructor closely connects to the passions I had as a child. I have always loved being in the water which inevitably led to me becoming a professional club swimmer at the age of 12. I continued to swim competitively and play water polo until 2012.
Since I became a swimming instructor in 2015, I have experienced victories, big and small every day as I have helped my students progress. No two children are the same. I have students who are fearless and some who are terrified. Focused or distracted, shy or confident… A huge part of my job is to figure out who my students are, what motivates them, what scares them, and tailor every lesson to meet their individual needs.
I have an inherent passion for helping my students achieve their best and be comfortable and safe in the water. Through my years of experience, I have continued to observe and learn. There is always something new to discover! I believe I have collected some of the best and most effective practises and built them into my teaching style. I am very excited to continue learning and teaching with SwimWay!

I am a Level 2 ASA Swimming Coach and 1st4sport Level 2 Triathlon Coach. I started my career as a P.E. teacher but retired several years ago to concentrate on swimming teaching (since 2016) and triathlon coaching (since 2011). I am always so excited to share the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over my years as teacher and coach.
Working continuously in swimming across all ages and abilities helps me to improve my own understanding of the sport. I have been learning from the best teachers and coaches I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my career. I have found a wonderful balance in my teaching methods to create a pleasant environment and rewarding experience for all my students.
Working on FUNdamentals and core aquatics skills I always try to bring new ideas to my lessons. I like to ask myself these questions when putting my teaching plans together:
Will the lesson be interesting, challenging, and enjoyable?
Does it suit the age and abilities of the learners?
Is there variety, continuity, and balance?
I am an all-rounder in sports and apart from my “first love” of swimming, I enjoy tennis, skiing, and basketball. I also regularly compete in open water swimming competitions and Ironman triathlon events across Europe. I am a father of three and enjoy spending time with my family including my youngest child who is now doing A-Levels.

Before starting SwimWay, I worked for over 6 years teaching at Chelsea Harbour Club, Swimming Nature and Virgin Active. Along with my duties as Managing Director of the company, I still teach every day, as I feel that only by continuous teaching can I sustain an on-going improvement of SwimWay’s program which is vital to the company’s success.

I have been with the SwimWay team since 2009, working in customer services, management, and resource scheduling, as well as developing the marketing, new business, and brand recognition strategies. I also handle the social media and online content management. My position has evolved over the years to become Operations Manager, looking after multiple aspects of the operation as a whole.
I have been a keen swimmer from a very young age while growing up in South Africa. I think I may have been some kind of water-dwelling beast in a previous life as I absolutely love being under water! Scuba diving, snorkelling, or just swimming around for hours – it’s a completely different world down there! In order to get a better understanding of the industry, I also qualified as a swimming instructor, spending a year teaching weekly lessons at the Kew Riverside Pool, and running crash courses at Kensington and Streatham pools. This helped me gain valuable insight into our programme, clientele, and the unique service we are selling.

I have a degree in Law, and worked for various law firms for over five years until I decided to shift my career toward education.

While teaching there, I began my own swimming school, which I ran for two years until I made the decision to go to university.
At the age of 22, I went to Loughborough University to study Sports Science with Management BSc. While at Loughborough I worked in Nottingham as the swimming manager at a health club. I have had various other teaching and coaching swimming positions, teaching everyone from 3-month-old babies to 92-year-old adults! I am very enthusiastic about my work and love teaching swimming.

I studied at the University of West London and graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Accounting & Finance. Finance has always been one of my passions, and I have been working in the field since 2013. Having joined the SwimWay team in 2015, I am highly pleased to be working alongside such great people!
I have always enjoyed swimming, and was taught from a very young age. I’m glad that my son now shares the same enthusiasm I had while learning with SwimWay. Even more so as SwimWay is a fantastic company that will ensure he becomes the confident swimmer he can be!
