The SwimWay Team
SwimWay instructors and office staff. London's top instructors, specifically trained in the unique SwimWay methodology. A friendly and helpful office team with an understanding of the industry
At SwimWay we put a huge emphasis on recruiting the best instructors and office staff. We understand the importance of the bond between instructor and student, especially for young children. We also know how much it helps to hear a friendly and helpful voice on the other end of the phone.
While sometimes unavoidable, we strive to minimise the turnover of instructors from term to term. We hire only those with at least two years experience. We also pay above the market average for their talent and commitment. All our instructors have worked in established swimming programmes across the globe. This brings a solid background in swimming teaching to the team. Additionally, it helps us to continuously improve our own methodology. DBS checks are updated regularly, as well as insurance and qualifications. We also provide health and safety training before the start of every term. This training is consistently supervised and monitored throughout the year.
Take a look at our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages for some fun images and videos from the team. We are incredibly proud of the SwimWay instructors and office staff. The standards we set are constantly met and raised time and time again. We have no doubt that from the first time you speak to us, you will see that SwimWay is the only way!

I have a degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Sao Paulo-Brazil, and a Master of Science in International Business Economics from the University of Westminster in London. I am also a fully qualified UK Level 2 swimming instructor.
In 2005 I identified a niche market following the growing number of private swimming pools being built in London. SwimWay was then created, aiming to provide an alternative type of swimming lesson for families who were not necessarily satisfied with the existing swimming programmes of public leisure centres and/or health clubs.
The company has since become a leading home visit Swimming School in London, providing swimming lessons to children and adults in exclusive private developments, homes, schools and gyms, as well as a number of sites open to general public.
Before starting SwimWay, I worked as a swimming instructor for many years across London. Along with my duties as Managing Director of the company, I still teach every day, as I feel that only by continuous teaching can I sustain an on-going improvement of SwimWay’s program which is vital to the company’s success.

I can’t remember learning to swim although my father tells me I cried a lot when I first started! By the time I was 11 years old I was swimming for the City of Bristol at County and National level. Training involved swimming before and after school and that, along with all the other sports that I enjoyed and competed in, compounded my passion for sport.
I continued swimming throughout my adult life, fitting it alongside my work as an assistant in the City for 11 years. I have worked at SwimWay since 2010, and enjoy the combination of working in the office as well as teaching swimming. I can’t wait to get to the pool to teach at the end of a busy morning in the office!

I have been working for SwimWay since 2010, both as the Facilities Manager and swimming instructor…
I have a degree in Law and worked for various law firms for over five years until I decided to shift my career toward education. I had the opportunity to work for primary and secondary international schools both as a teacher and class assistant, increasing my experience and knowledge which eventually led to me becoming the Library Manager of the British School in Brazil. I moved to London to undertake a Masters Degree in Cultural Studies at City University London, as I am truly passionate about education and culture.
Swimming has always been my favourite sport, and I was part of the swimming team back in school. I believe that swimming is not only a vital life skill, but it complements a range of other sports such as sailing, diving, scuba diving, water polo, water skiing, triathlon, as well as enabling a fun activity that can be enjoyed during family holidays.

My swimming career began in 2004, teaching in a popular swimming pool in the north of Italy. I worked with all ages and skill levels, from babies to adults, beginners to advanced. I was then given the chance to move into a coaching position, and I loved it from the instant I started! I spent nearly four years in this role, primarily in charge of the age group squad, with very successful results in local, regional and national competitions.
Looking for new experiences and challenges, in 2009 I moved to Madrid where I spent the following four years teaching at two swim schools, learning and developing different methods and approaches. It was there that I also obtained the Spanish “RFEN – Level 1 in Coaching Swimming”.
Since May 2013, I have been living and working in London. I have found a thriving swimming environment in this city, full of opportunities to enhance my knowledge and career. I joined SwimWay in 2014 after obtaining the “ASA – Level 2 in Teaching Aquatics”. In the same year, I completed an internship as coach assistant for Chelsea and Westminster Swimming Club, and started coaching for Barnes Swimming Club. A year later I acquired the “ASA – Level 2 in Coaching Swimming”. In order to further enrich my coaching tools, in 2017 I successfully achieved the “ASCA – Level 3” for the American Swimming Coaches Association.
I am a very motivated person, reliable and enthusiastic in what I do. My purpose is to help my students feel safe, comfortable and confident in the water, providing them with all the tools they need to master and control the aquatic environment!

From the age of 11, I competed at a National level of swimming and continued to do so for another 11 years. In 2004 and 2008 I competed in the Olympic trials and in 2006 and 2010 in the Commonwealth trials. When I turned 19, I became the head of swimming at a private school where I had to deliver swimming lessons to primary aged children. I also created the curriculum for the school and coached the teachers to improve the standard of swimming instruction at the school. This led me to become more interested in schooling policies and procedures, so I took the "Time To Listen" unit with Swim England, which I found fascinating!
While teaching at the school, I began my own swimming school, which I ran for two years until I made the decision to go to university.
At the age of 22, I went to Loughborough University to study Sports Science with Management BSc. While at Loughborough I worked in Nottingham as the swimming manager at a health club.
Wanting to be more involved with the managerial side of the operation, I completed the Level 3 Plant Room Operator course. This has come in extremely handy with my role as a Site Manager for SwimWay.
I have had various other teaching and coaching swimming positions, teaching everyone from 3-month-old babies to 92-year-old adults! I am very enthusiastic about my work and love teaching swimming.

I have had a passion for sports and physical activities from a very early age. I have been swimming since I was a baby, and have always loved the water. This natural passion led me to take a degree in Physical Education in Brazil.
My training, and experience thereafter, gave me the opportunity to work with children of all ages, as well as children with special needs. This gave me a huge amount of experience and confidence in helping my students achieve and progress in their physical education.
I spent a year in Australia in 2014, where I furthered my training (Swim Australia Teacher, Royal Life Saving, First Aid and Cardionary Resuscitation and Bronze Medallion Courses) whilst working as a swimming teacher. It was a huge learning curve for me, and has intensified my passion for this career.
This is what I love the most in this world: working with children, sports and water!

Swimming has always played a central role in my life. I have been a member of the Portuguese Swimming Federation for over 20 years, and I have swum competitively for the Portuguese National Team on many occasions.
My unwavering passion for swimming led me to pursue a career in teaching/coaching. In 2009 I graduated with a degree in High Performance Sports Training in swimming. In addition I have extensive experience teaching all ages and abilities. I see myself as a great communicator; a positive and enthusiastic person that enjoys the challenge of teaching people how to swim. I love helping my students improve with every lesson utilising knowledge, experience and pleasure.
I believe SwimWay provides the best conditions for us to teach, and consequently for the young swimmers to learn. The private and semi-private classes establish a wonderful atmosphere between teacher and swimmer which ultimately results in highly positive outcomes.
Everything that I am today, I owe to swimming.

Swimming has been part of my life since I was a little girl, where I swam at a national level in my native country of Bulgaria. Since 2012, I have been teaching swimming in London and have a true passion for helping children learn to swim. I believe swimming lessons offer children a very rewarding, enjoyable activity whilst also providing a skill that could one day save their life.
I am a great believer in giving back to the community, and charity work. I have participated in charity swim events such as Swimathon and The Great Newham London Swim, swimming 2.5K and 1 Mile, to support charities devoted to curing cancer.
I am a fully qualified Level 2 STA teacher and a member of the Swimming Teaching Association. I have taught a great many children to swim using various different teaching styles, but I firmly believe the SwimWay Methodology is the most effective. It is wonderful to see the children thrive in our lessons!

It was when I was 7 years old that I first swam in the sea in my home country of Brazil. The moment I touched the water, I felt an instant connection, and my passion for swimming was born!
Over the years I improved my abilities with continuous lessons, which led me to start to take part in Regional competitions from the age of 13. My training deepened my love for the sport, and my days started revolving around an active lifestyle. The discipline and challenges I experienced when training and competing taught me some important lessons on how to approach and handle any difficult situations in my life.
I have been working as a swimming teacher with various swim schools since 2006. I have found the SwimWay method provides a fun and nurturing environment, within a consistent and structured class. An important combination for a balanced lesson. The small, personal classes provide the instructors more space and opportunity to give each student the attention they need. I believe this methodology helps students progress faster, and watching this development gives a wonderful feeling of satisfaction to me as a teacher.

I was just 6 years old when I started swimming for one of the major teams in Portugal, SCP (Sporting Clube de Portugal). It all started with a school visit to the club, after which I received an invitation to not only be part of their swimming team, but also to compete against other swimmers internationally. My 10 years of training and competing for SCP taught me about the importance and spirit of this sport. It also helped me develop an interest for sharing my knowledge and skills with others.
At the age of 16, I started working as a swimming instructor at a prestigious venue in the heart of Lisbon, teaching learners of many different levels and ages. This was excellent experience for me. I felt like there would never be anything more fulfilling than having the opportunity to teach my passion. In London, I worked for Swimming Nature for 4 years, teaching babies, children and adults. It was here that I built on my new experiences with one to one and two to one lessons, but also continued with group lessons. The different methods I have worked with over the years have shown me that one to one and two to one lessons are far better ways of achieving success, and these are the methods used by SwimWay.
The role as a swimming instructor and my other life experiences have helped me develop many important interests and skills. This includes being able to support and instruct people with special needs in many ways of their lives. It is because of this that I am also currently taking a degree on Special Education Needs.

I have always been into sport, and swimming has been a passion of mine from a young age. I was lucky enough to swim competitively as a member of the national squad team, but my journey came to a pause when I decided to dedicate my time to my Dance degree.
However my overwhelming love for swimming led me to complete my ASA qualifications, and I have never looked back. My understanding of health and well-being have been a great contribution to my teaching style; I believe that learning should be fun and engaging. Development is more natural when the students are excited to come to class – this is something I aim to bring to each lesson. I always do my best to transmit my passion because there is nothing more rewarding than hearing a little one call your name with a smile on their face – just to show you they can finally perform the skill you have been teaching them!
I am also an Open Water Diver, an ex-county runner and a local league netball player; but my first love still calls to me – so here I am! I not only feel at home in the water, I feel free.

Sports and being active have always played a very important part in my life. I cannot imagine going through even one day without enjoying some kind of physical activity! When I was a child, I participated in every sport I could at school, and swimming was a huge part of that – one of my favourite pastimes. It has remained this way to this day!
When I arrived in the UK in 2016, I swiftly completed my swimming teaching and lifeguarding qualifications to allow me to expand upon this passion. I have been teaching babies, children and adults of all ages/abilities ever since! My experience working for a few different companies has exposed me to several different methodologies and teaching styles, which has helped mould me into the instructor I am today.
For me, swimming is quite simply one of the most enjoyable sports there is. I believe everyone is capable to learn swim if the teacher puts in the right amount of effort and quality into the lessons, as well as tailoring to each student’s individual needs and personalities. I always try to create a fun, kind and comfortable environment for my students, which I find helps them to focus and learn better.
Above all, I really just enjoy teaching! Working with my students and seeing their improvements is extremely rewarding. I am a positive and enthusiastic person, and I relish a challenge!

Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as l can remember. I grew up near a lake, so I was around water from a very young age. I started attending classes at school, and quickly moved to competitive swimming.
I spent 12 years swimming competitively, the highlight of which was attending the Lithuanian national team championships. I can never spend too much time away from the water, so I was also part of the Lithuanian national sprint canoeing (kayak) team! There I participated in a number of championships worldwide and became a Lithuanian canoe sprint champion.
Being very active and interested in sports led me to take a degree in Physical Education. In 2015 I graduated from Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences. I then continued my education in London, and in 2017 I completed a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology. All the while, keeping up with my training and swimming.
After my studies I completed the “ASA Level 2 Award in Teaching Aquatics (QCF)” swimming teaching qualifications. Since then I have been teaching swimming to children to adults of all ages and abilities in school classes and individual lessons.
I have a deep interested in understanding human physical performance skills. When teaching, I like to track the progress of each of my students. I want to ensure that everyone is happy with the pace of the activities and perform as well as their body allows.
I am a positive, enthusiastic and genuine teacher. I try to ensure that every one of my students leaves the class with a positive mindset and feeling more confident with what they achieve. I believe that learning to swim doesn’t have to be a hard work, it can also be fun, relaxing and rewarding activity that brings joy to both me and to my students!

Swimming has always been a huge part of my life. I started lessons at a very young age and was lucky enough to swim competitively for Cardiff at County level during my school years.
In 2015, I completed my qualifications and started teaching as a volunteer in local pools. Teaching swimming quickly became a passion for me. I found it to be incredibly rewarding work which I pursued with great fervour!
In late 2016 I left Wales to travel and spent two years living and working in Australia. Swimming is a massive part of the culture over there and I continued to teach regularly as a Swim Australia qualified instructor.
My favourite part of being a swimming instructor is watching the confidence of children and adults grow with each lesson. This has helped me build genuine relationships based on trust and having fun!
Outside of teaching, I travel back and forth to Wales as often as possible to spend time with my family and friends. I still enjoy travelling and I am always looking to experience new countries and cultures as much as I can. Preferably staying near a beach whenever possible!

I have tried a variety of sports over the years and swimming is just one which captured my heart. I have been swimming from the very early age of two years. From my very first dip in the pool, you simply could not get me out of the water!
I swam competitively in my home country of South Africa from the age of 5 until I was 18 years old. My love of the sport instilled a desire in me to help others achieve the same passion and goals.
Thus, began my training! I took multiple courses to become qualified as a swimming instructor. After two years of teaching children and adults, I decided to progress further. I gained my parent and baby teaching qualifications and started teaching babies from the age of 6 months.
My learning process is not over though. I always look forward to gaining more knowledge and expanding my quality of teaching, especially at SwimWay.
Watching the progress and achievements of my students truly is the light of my life!

I have been swimming since before I can remember! My current lifestyle as a Swimming Teacher and Aqua Aerobics Instructor closely connects to the passions I had as a child. I have always loved being in the water which inevitably led to me becoming a club swimmer at the age of 12. I continued to swim competitively and play water polo until 2012.
Since I became a swimming instructor in 2015, I have experienced victories, big and small every day as I have helped my students progress. No two children are the same. I have students who are fearless and some who are terrified. Focused or distracted, shy or confident… A huge part of my job is to figure out who my students are, what motivates them, what scares them, and tailor every lesson to meet their individual needs.
I have an inherent passion for helping my students achieve their best and be comfortable and safe in the water. Through my years of experience, I have continued to observe and learn. There is always something new to discover! I believe I have collected some of the best and most effective practises and built them into my teaching style. I am very excited to continue learning and teaching with SwimWay!

I am a Level 2 ASA Swimming Coach and 1st4sport Level 2 Triathlon Coach. I started my career as a P.E. teacher but retired several years ago to concentrate on swimming teaching (since 2016) and triathlon coaching (since 2011). I am always so excited to share the knowledge and experience I have accumulated over my years as teacher and coach.
Working continuously in swimming across all ages and abilities helps me to improve my own understanding of the sport. I have been learning from the best teachers and coaches I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my career. I have found a wonderful balance in my teaching methods to create a pleasant environment and rewarding experience for all my students.
Working on FUNdamentals and core aquatics skills I always try to bring new ideas to my lessons. I like to ask myself these questions when putting my teaching plans together:
Will the lesson be interesting, challenging, and enjoyable?
Does it suit the age and abilities of the learners?
Is there variety, continuity, and balance?
I am an all-rounder in sports and apart from my “first love” of swimming, I enjoy tennis, skiing, and basketball. I also regularly compete in open water swimming competitions and Ironman triathlon events across Europe. I am a father of three and enjoy spending time with my family including my youngest child who is now doing A-Levels.

I originally worked with SwimWay as an instructor from 2012 to 2018. I then took some time off when my first child was born and was super excited to return in 2021!
I have always had a natural passion for all kinds of sports since I can remember. At the age of 15, I went to Pedagogical Lycee with a specialisation in sports and physical training. Once I completed my leaving exam, I went to the University of South Bohemia in Czech Republic and studied Bachelor of Sport. My focus was Physical Training & Sport Education. In my first year of University, I completed my ski and snowboard qualifications and worked as instructor in the nearby mountains. A few months later I started working as a swimming teacher for the local swimming club.
Once I finished my university studies in 2008, I made the move to London where I attained my ASA Level 2 Swimming Teaching qualification and subsequently my STA Level 2 Baby & Preschool Teaching qualification.
I see myself as an enthusiastic, reliable, and hard-working person. I try to create a unique connection with each of my students. When I’m teaching, my goal is always to create safe, independent swimmers with good technique. Teaching is my passion and I believe that the lessons must be a fun experience, especially for the little ones! I absolutely love the smiles on their faces when they are achieving their goals, no matter how small or big they are!

At the age of 17, I qualified as a lifeguard and started working in water parks and holiday resorts in different parts of Italy. However, it was when I started working as a lifeguard at my local leisure centre, that I realised teaching swimming was what I wanted to do.
I was amazed by all the little kids making so much progress week after week and I found that truly inspiring. That is what drives me about my job now, it is so rewarding and satisfying to know I am helping my students achieve their goals and develop this important life skill. There is nothing better than watching a non-swimmer grow in confidence and skill. It’s even more encouraging to hear them say that they love and enjoy swimming because it's fun. That makes me so proud!
I have now been working as swimming teacher since 2009. The first three years were in Milan while I completed my Interior Design studies. I had a wonderful time back then working in a leisure centre teaching group and private lessons. Since then, I have continued to teach non-stop! I work with students of all ages, from toddlers to adults as well as parent & baby classes. I thoroughly enjoy teaching all ages and abilities.
I love teaching swimming as much as I love swimming! I been drawn to the sport since a very young age. I am so happy I have the chance to transmit my passion to my students every day. Even after my years of club swimming and training for hours every day; I still enjoy going to the pool every time!

Swimming has been my passion since my early years. In 2016 I decided it was time to impart this passion onto others! I started my first swimming teaching course for babies and pre-school children. I have not looked back since!
In 2017, I completed all my qualifications and started teaching children of all aged and abilities in London. Teaching is such a rewarding experience. Seeing pupils progressing and having fun in the water, watching their confidence and skill grow day by day… It makes me so happy! Coming from Brazil, and having life and work experience in Europe, I also see myself as gifted to provide lessons for a diverse community with language skills.
Beyond the teaching of swimming, I am a globetrotter and have visited more than 40 countries. Sharing these experiences and learning is something that is incredibly inspiring to me. Moreover, at the moment I am also doing a Master’s in Accounting and Finance at Greenwich University to expand into a new field. Learning and sharing knowledge is my motto in life!

As far back as I can remember I have loved the water. It doesn't matter if it's a river, a lake, a beach or a swimming pool. Water is my happy place. In the water I feel free. I find peace.
From my first swimming lesson as a child, that was it. I felt in love. It didn’t take long before I started swimming competitively up until the age of 16. Keen to continue pursuing my passion, when I finished school, I studied Sports Science and Physical Education. My specialisation was swimming of course!
As soon as I arrived in London, I started to teach swimming lessons to children of all ages and abilities. Working with kids is a blessing to me. It's important to me to pass my passion for swimming, my love for water to my students. I feel happy watching them progress, and always try to get the best out of them. Nothing compares to their happy smiles, which is why I work so hard to make my lessons fun and enjoyable as well as progressive and challenging.
Apart from swimming I enjoy watching football, travelling, and reading. I try to be a better person every day. To improve myself, to face my fears. I love the process. I believe that as long as we live, we learn from each other. Especially from children!

I have always had a passion for sports since I was a child. Being a very active youngster, my parents made sure I focused my energy in Sports. I'd have swimming lessons 3 times a week, and being a typical Brazilian boy, I'd play football every day! Swimming was a recreational activity too, a wonderful part of my child childhood with so many developmental benefits.
My love of sports led me to study Physical Education at University in 1999. Then, in 2013 I moved to the UK, and qualified in Personal Trainer Level 4. Meanwhile, I worked as a Football Coach Assistant in a primary school.
Between 2014 and 2017 I had the chance to accomplish a dream to live in Germany! There I learned the language and shared my time between working as a football coach for kids and as a Gym instructor for seniors. I like to think that these years helped develop skills as a good coach, such as patience and respect for each individual's pace, as well as knowing when to push.
When I arrived back in the UK, I finished my STA Award level 2 in Teaching Swimming and more recently I qualified in Life Saving. Physical Education and looking after my health has always been a priority in my life. I have total conviction that through swimming lessons, a child not only develops great physical benefits, but also life values such as trust, independence, self-love and discipline.
I am a father to a beautiful and bright daughter. So, I love working with children helping them see how capable they are of learning, reaching their full potential and conquering the world!

My dad is a very passionate tennis teacher, and he instilled in me a zest not just for tennis but for all sports in general as well as teaching. I was named “Jimmy” after Jimmy Connors, the legendary tennis player from the 80's!
It was my dad who insisted I start to learn to swim. I was 10 years old, so it was a bit late, but from my first lesson I felt like I had found a second home! When I turned 16, I qualified as a lifeguard working during summers in Madrid to pay for my university degree (I graduated in Law with a MA in Business and Energy Law).
In 2017 I moved to London to work in an office. Though my degree was in the legal arena, I missed being in the water so much I thought I would try my hand at teaching swimming. My first job as a swimming instructor changed everything! The time I have spent since then helping children and adults of all ages and abilities develop this life-saving skill has been some of the best years of my life. Seeing my students develop and improve week by week brings such a sense of satisfaction, I wouldn’t change it for anything!

To say I am passionate about swimming and teaching swimming is an understatement. I live and breathe swimming and have smelt like chlorine since the age of 3!
I don’t see being a swimming instructor as a job; I see it as a rewarding passion. I competed for South Africa, as well as my University (Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX), where I earned my BA Degree in Creative Advertising & Graphic Design. I attended the University as a student athlete on a Full Scholarship from 2014 to 2018.
I am a Conference Champion of the 200 and 400 Individual Medley for years 2015 and 2016, and I am ranked in the Southern Methodist University Top 10 in 3 events - the Women’s 200 & 400 yard Individual Medley as well as the 200 yard Breaststroke. During my time studying, I also worked as a swimming instructor and coach to children and adults of all ages and abilities.
I provided club, group and one-on-one lessons during this time, all which have been truly rewarding experiences. Having fun in the swimming pool is a priority of mine, but so is safety, progression and awareness.
Swimming is an essential life skill for development and opens doors to further opportunities and fun!

I was born in Brazil, where I spent most of my childhood and teenage years training and competing for swimming and diving. I also have a passion for dance and photography. The latter of which I also do professionally.
One of my key aims in my lessons is to transmit skills and knowledge in a way that is easy and fun for my students. This was the most impactful way I found to learn when I was training for swimming, diving, dance and photography.
My focus is on approaching and connecting before each class to build the best relationship with my students. I work hard to identify both strengths and weaknesses to help one improve the other.
I am lucky to work with SwimWay, not only because they are a top swimming school, but because I connect with their values, specifically specialising in 1:1 and 1:2 lessons. The focus on each child's individual skills and challenges truly helps to make fuel the progression and development.
I look forward to seeing you at the pool! 😊

My field of study is Graphic Design, in which I obtained my Higher Degree. After working for 5 years in the field I decided to move to London. Here I worked for over a year as Front of House and Lifeguard for SwimWay. This gave me the opportunity to meet many great professionals and my instilled a desire in me to teach!
As soon as I was able, I qualified as an instructor and have been continuing to learn and grow with SwimWay ever since. It has been an amazing environment for me to develop my teaching abilities as the methodology employed in the company is second to none!
My focus is to provide not only instructional, progressive lessons, but to make swimming a fun and pleasurable activity for all my students.

I started swimming at the age of four. I quickly joined the school squad and won my first medal at the age of six! Since then I competed continuously until my late teenage years in Eger, Hungary. I then went to Óbuda University in Budapest and completed my engineering degree.
I moved to London in 2008 and first worked as a lifeguard. In 2011, I started my journey as an ASA qualified level 2 swimming teacher, then level 2 coach. Since then I have worked for various different swim schools across London with all abilities and age groups from preschool to adults. I have found my time teaching has been the most rewarding years of my life, helping me to grow personally and professionally.
In 2018, I became an STA qualified baby and pre-school teacher. This was an amazing experience as I discovered an innate love and ability for the craft, and I have found my parent & baby lessons to be my favourite teaching time!
I really enjoy seeing my little swimmers (and their parents) growing with confidence in the water, having fun and learning new skills week by week. I am a kind and patient coach, I am passionate about swimming and the water, something I try to pass on to my pupils. Getting to know who they are is essential to me so I can tailor the lessons to their individual needs.

I grew up in the north of Portugal, where my love for exploring nature and the outdoors sparked an interest in sports from a young age. At the age of 6, I started competing in athletics events, continuing until I went to university. Over that time, I also became interested in swimming, and was invited to represent my school in several inter-school swimming galas.
This inspired a love of the water and an interest in lifesaving which led to me getting a job as a beach lifeguard. Looking to pursue in a career in sport, I then completed a degree in Sport and Physical Education with a specialisation in swimming. I am also currently working on a master’s degree in sports for children and youth. Since 2011, I have been teaching group and 1:1 swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, as well as other fitness classes such as aqua aerobics, aqua cross-training and senior fitness.
In 2019, I moved to London, where I worked as a PE teacher whilst completing my Level 3 personal trainer qualification. Having attained this, I then started to work in a gym alongside my swimming teaching. My time at schools also gave my experience working with children with special educational needs.
My enthusiasm to learn is contagious! I work hard to bring a style of learning through fun which I feel provides amazing results. I love seeing the enjoyment on my students’ faces during their lessons, as well as the improvement and progression. I enjoy teaching both adults and children in either a group or one to one setting, tailoring each class according to each individual’s needs.

Handball is another passion and, together with swimming, led me to pursue a degree in Physical Education and a Masters in Exercise and Rehabilitation. It is just so rewarding to see people's development when they include exercising in their lives!
I have worked as a swimming instructor since 2007 in Brazil, Australia and UK with different swimming programmes and schools, and I'm now thrilled to call SwimWay my new home!

I am originally from Brazil and sports has always been an important part of my life. My childhood was spent playing and having fun on the beach where from the age of 5, my parents encouraged me to start my first swimming lessons. Swimming is an important part of my life but over the years I have also enjoyed other sports particularly handball which I am also very passionate about!
On completion of my degree, I moved to London and having had some time working as front of staff for SwimWay, meeting the team and the children attending lessons, I decided that updating my teaching qualifications and getting back into the water to teach and work with children was something I had to do.
I am looking forward to teaching the SwimWay children this vital life skill in a fun and engaging way. I look forward to instilling a passion for the sport that will last a lifetime into all my students!

I have been teaching swimming to all ages and abilities since 2011. I started learning to swim when I was 4 years old at my local pool in Greece. It seems that I had a natural talent for swimming, so I progressed quickly and became a successful competitive swimmer.
After ending my competitive swimming career, I decided to do my BSc in Physical Education and Sports Science, specialising in swimming. I have always had an interest in water-based sports. Even as a child, I would help to teach my younger cousins how to swim.
Swimming is one of the most important skills to learn at a young age. So, I decided to become a swimming coach to facilitate my knowledge and teach people to gain water confidence. I have had wonderful coaches who were caring, patient and supportive when I was young so I would love all my swimmers to have the same positive experience and I will do my best to make that happen.
Some students are fearless and love to jump into deep water without thinking twice, while others are more cautious. Some students are easily distracted and talkative while others are timid and uncertain. Each child is different, and they have unique fears and motivations. When I teach them how to swim, I try to tailor the swimming lessons to meet their individual needs.
Few things are more rewarding than watching my students’ progress and feeling proud of their accomplishments.

Greetings to the big and little people of Swimway! My name is Sonia and I have been happily swimming since I was 5 months old!
At the age of 12, I started swimming at club level, happily competing for many years – I have such amazing memories of that time. I have always had a natural relationship with the water due to the lessons I had as a child, and was always lucky to have the best teachers!
These experiences inspired me to engage in other aquatic experiences, from my PADI Open Water Certificate in scuba diving to lifeguarding, which then inevitably led to me teaching swimming lessons for all ages and abilities since 2022.
I love my job and work very hard to give my students the same level of instruction that I had the privilege of experiencing in my youth.
See you in the water!

My name is Nicola, and I was born in a small town in Italy called Chiavari. The town is surrounded by the sea and every summer I spent most of my time at the beach swimming!
When I was old enough, I became a qualified lifeguard which I did for many years before moving to London in 2019. Shortly after my big move, I qualified as a swimming instructor and teaching swimming has now become a beloved passion for me.
I am a very motivated person, especially when it comes to swimming, so I still train on a regular basis. This, as well as being a full-time teacher, means I am in the pool a lot! I strive to be a super friendly person and I really enjoy my time with my students. Seeing them having fun in the lessons whilst learning this important life-long skill gives me tremendous joy every day!

Hello, my name Ioannis!
I hail from Ioannina in Greece. My first experience with swimming was when I was six years old. I’ll never forget the feeling of excitement I had in the swimming pool from day one. A feeling that has followed me since then and has only grown over the years.
When I finished high school I enlisted in the Hellenic Cyprus Forces, spending 2 years as a gunner and radio operator. I then moved to London where I studied business management as well as international tourism and hospitality management. During this time, my brother was a swimming teacher, which piqued my interest as my passion for swimming was as strong as ever. Thus, I decided to obtain my qualifications and begin a new path as a swimming teacher!
Swimming to me means freedom, passion, health, and challenging oneself. I am so excited to pass on my love for the water to my students. See you at the pool!

I have been happily teaching children and adults of all ages and abilities to swim since 2013. Having worked in this industry for so many years, I feel I have gained valuable communication and teaching skills through my years of experience, which has made me feel very confident when approaching my lessons.
I have always had a passion for teaching, even before I started! I love to help my students learn and progress using different techniques I myself have learnt in my career and before (I’ve been swimming since I was 3 years old).
I feel that swimming is such an important skill, and can not only help to save lives, but can provide a wonderful lifestyle later in life with so many healthy activities centred around water. The fact that I can help my students realise this is such a blessing!

Swimming has always been a part of me. I remember attending my first swimming lesson at the age of 8 just as clearly as when told my coach I would be ending my professional swimming career at the age 23.
I am a former member of the Ukrainian National Swimming team, a time of my life that I hold very dearly in my memory.
After finishing my swimming career, I could not give up swimming altogether. I believe there are never truly any “ex-swimmers”! So, I continued swimming regularly for wellbeing and to keep my physical and mental health at a high level.
I began my swimming teaching career in 2012. During that time, I worked for a number of different swimming and fitness clubs as well as training university and triathlon teams.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of teaching over 2,500 children and adults of all ages and abilities and look forward to continuing this for many years to come!

My name is Marta, and I have had a passion for all kinds of sports since I was a little girl and have been teaching swimming since 2018.
As a child, I started swimming lessons young, and participated in various other sports too, such as basketball, cycling, tennis, paddle tennis, volleyball and more. When I got to high school, I started to compete in swimming for my city's club at a regional level.
This trajectory guided me towards gaining my degree for Physical Activity and Sports in Madrid. While studying I was also teaching swimming lessons at a gym nearby as well as small swimming groups in my club. During this time, I found that my passion in life is to educate through sports. This was further formed while teaching children in primary and secondary education after my studies.
I like to keep active by going to the gym, diving, working as a swimming referee and cycling. I am excited to spend time teaching the sport of swimming to children and adults of all ages. May they enjoy it as much as I do!

My parents say that since I was a baby, I had a passion for water. My father was a water polo player at our club and always encouraged me to swim. I'm Brazilian so all my school holidays were around water, on the beach or in a pool.
At school, swimming was mandatory. It was the part of the day that I enjoyed most. In secondary education, I started to participate in swimming competitions to represent my school.
I graduated in administration, a postgraduate in marketing, and have a career in digital media. However, I felt something was missing and I needed something more to provide fulfilment.
I enjoy communicating and interacting with people. I have always loved helping others succeed, always liked sports and being active, and so I decided to start teaching swimming lessons. Teaching swimming is a wonderful way to combine my love for swimming with a career. It gives me the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives.
Teaching someone to swim is a transformative experience. For many, overcoming the fear of water or learning a new skill can boost confidence and self-esteem. Watching my students progress and achieve their swimming goals is so rewarding. Fills me with joy!
I am committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment while emphasizing the importance of water safety practices. I believe in fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere in which students feel comfortable and motivated to learn.
I hope you have as much fun swimming as I do!

I have been swimming since I was five years old. I remember being scared of water right at the start, but my teacher was very patient, helping me step-by-step through my swimming journey. Thanks to these amazing swim coaches, I quickly became far more confident and able, and went on to be a competitive swimmer in Brazil.
I have travelled across different cities and countries, participating in swimming events and competitions. It was from this experience that I knew that I want to make a difference in other people’s lives, from young to old. I have a huge passion for swimming and teaching, and I dedicate my time and experience to help teach people who want to learn to swim.
My professional yet fun swimming classes will make students feel that being in the water is one of the most important exercises for your mind, body, soul, and health in comparison to any other activity. So, by joining my lessons, we will conquer the water together!

I have been passionate about swimming since I first started at 3 years old. My lessons back then were completed all the way through to stage 10 in a swimming pool that had a wave machine!
As I grew older, I became interested in other activities that are available in water. Completing my Paddi licence on holidays so I was able to scuba dive really drove my passion for swimming even further. That’s when I realised, I wanted to make a career out of it. I wanted to teach other people to swim and allow them to have the same opportunities to enjoy the water!
Since 2019, I have been working in a variety of different swimming locations, teaching babies, children of all ages and abilities (I also have experience with SEN children and schools) as well as adults, including training people for their cabin crew interviews! I believe swimming is such a vital and important skill that everyone should learn, and I love being a part of making that fun for all!
I’ve always found running lessons in the 121 and the 221 format to be the most effective as we really get a chance to get to know the swimmer. Thus, the SwimWay pathway helps to build confidence as well as skills from a very early age.
Swimming will always be my number one passion and I will forever remind people of all the opportunities that can come from it!

My swimming journey began at age 4, marking the beginning of a lifelong passion! I have been teaching in my home country of Brazil since 2009, and have recently transitioned to London, which I am loving! With my many years of instruction as well as qualifications SEQ Level 1 and SEQ Level 2 for Teaching Swimming, I bring a wealth of experience to my role.
My swimming achievements include eighth best in the Brazilian national championship in 100-metre freestyle, as well as a plethora of other regional titles. In addition to these personal accomplishments, I pursued a career in physical education, becoming a dedicated swimming teacher and coach. My coaching career includes guiding two Brazilian champion and several state champion athletes.
To compliment my love of swimming, I enjoy running, playing football, and weight training. My multifaceted background, both as an athlete and as a coach, reflects my comprehensive understanding of the sport.
I like to give small, personalised classes because it allows for greater development of participants compared to larger group classes. This is one of the reasons I am so happy to be teaching with SwimWay!

I am a native of Brazil, fluent in both Portuguese and English. I have been immersed in the world of swimming since the age of 3, and currently hold Level 2 Teaching Swimming and Level 1 Swimming qualifications. As a swimming teacher, I bring a wealth of experience to my role.
My achievements as a swimmer are marked by numerous medals from national, regional, and international championships. My proudest accomplishment is holding the record for medals at the Kurosa Championship. This accomplishment spans my years from 9 to 12 and continues to hold to this day, over two decades later!
After transitioning from a successful swimming career to law school, and subsequently working on a federal government project in Brazil, my life took an unexpected turn when I moved to London. Fate led me back to swimming, where I found fulfilment as a qualified swimming teacher. Blending my professional background and lifelong passion, becoming a swimming teacher was a natural choice for me.
I have the incredible opportunity to build children's confidence in the water. Witnessing their progress and recognizing their capabilities is a source of inspiration and fulfilment in my role as a swimming teacher.

Growing up on the coast of South Africa, with the beach on your doorstep, and every second home having a swimming pool, learning to swim was just part of growing up. But for me, swimming was more than a life skill, it was a passion.
I swam my first competitive gala when I was just 6 years old and went on to swim at a national level in South Africa. The life lessons learned from competitive swimming, the commitment, dedication, and the ability to work hard to achieve goals, is part of who I am.
I eventually moved on from competitive swimming and studied an honours degree in Biokinetics. However, approximately 15 years ago my love for swimming pushed me back to teaching young children to learn to swim. Qualified in South Africa, I have focused on water safety, learn to swim, and stroke correction, in schools and small group environments.
I believe that swimming is an essential life skill. Reliable and patient my aim is to create a fun, happy and safe environment to help nurture the love of swimming and sport in the minds of my young swimmers.

Hello, my name is Natalie. I have a passion for working in the sports & leisure industry and have done so since the age of 18. Whilst in College, I studied sports management and utilised the knowledge I gained from my studies to run summer camps for a major UK leisure company. These were a wide range of activities like team bonding games, rounders, basketball, football, athletics & swimming.
In 2014, I made the decision to focus on becoming a Swimming Teacher. I knew how important swimming is for the mind and body, and as life skill. Since then I have gained so much experience and many happy memories while working with group and private swimming lessons for babyies, children and adults. I have always been into sport. Swimming, in particular, has been a passion of mine from a young age, and I swam competitively until I was 16.
As soon as I ceased my competitive swimming, I started focussing on coaching and teaching swimming to a wide range of ages and abilities. My degree in Sports, Health & Exercise Sciences has further enhanced my ability to teach and adapt to different physical and mental obstacles my students may face.
I am of the mindset that learning should be fun and engaging. I believe whatever energy and work you put into a lesson as a teacher will mirror what you get out of your students. So, I aspire to make the lessons as engaging and energetic as possible!
I am also a triathlete, an ex-national biathlete and runner, and a keen sportsman for most activities. However, swimming is my passion and teaching this vital skill is an incredibly fulfilling job – an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be here!

Swimming has been my passion for almost my entire life. I began swimming lessons at the age of four to help manage my asthma. It quickly became a significant part of my life, leading me to swim competitively at regional and national levels in Japan.
After graduating from Boston University in the USA, I spent nearly two decades working in product management and marketing for a global blue-chip company. However, in 2015, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a swimming teacher. I wanted to share my passion for swimming instead of continuing at a desk job for the rest of my life!
This decision has proven to be incredibly rewarding. Words cannot describe the joy and fulfilment I feel when I see my students become confident and competent swimmers.
Swimming is more than just a life skill; it offers numerous physical, psychological, emotional, and social benefits. I am dedicated to providing inspiring and progressive swimming lessons to swimmers of all ages and levels. It would be a privilege to be part of your child’s swimming journey.

Before starting SwimWay, I worked for over 6 years teaching at Chelsea Harbour Club, Swimming Nature and Virgin Active.

While teaching there, I began my own swimming school, which I ran for two years until I made the decision to go to university.
At the age of 22, I went to Loughborough University to study Sports Science with Management BSc. While at Loughborough I worked in Nottingham as the swimming manager at a health club. I have had various other teaching and coaching swimming positions, teaching everyone from 3-month-old babies to 92-year-old adults! I am very enthusiastic about my work and love teaching swimming.
