To celebrate the close of another successful year, the SwimWay instructors, management team and pool owners met at Thai Square in Putney, followed by a short walk to Putney Pier to board a boat to continue the party on the River Thames!
Team Bonding
The management team runs it’s twelve exclusive London Venues from the SwimWay Putney Offices. The opportunity for the entire SwimWay team to meet up and mingle as a single group outside of the pre-term staff training sessions is something that everyone looks forward to. The Summer and Christmas Parties provide these occasions, and this year’s Boat Party was one to remember!
Food, Drinks & Football
The early arrivals enjoyed a pre-dinner drink and catch up with their colleagues while cheering England on in the match vs Sweden. The SwimWay Facilities Manager and instructor Ana Pastor did another amazing job this year organising an amazing party, food and entertainment!
The Thai food was fantastic, and no one was left hungry on this hot summer’s evening! Before we all departed for the boat, SwimWay MD Dan Pastor stood up to offer a heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes SwimWay a possibility. This is a team of committed, hard-working people who truly believe in the work they do. This has been an incredibly difficult term with many ups and downs which have proven quite exhausting and emotional. Nevertheless, SwimWay has emerged thankfully victorious, more experienced, and ready to take on all the challenges the future has to offer!
Staff Awards
Following a short introduction, Dan moved on to announce 2018’s instructors and staff members of the year. Every Summer Party, these announcements are made to recognise those who have gone above and beyond in their work throughout the year.
Instructors of the year for 2018 went to two of our top teachers: RICHARDSON SALLES AND ANA MAURICIO
Ana started with SwimWay in February 2017, and has quickly been growing in popularity ever since. She works at four of our locations: East Sheen (Gordon Ave), Kensington, Putney (Upper Richmond Road) and Wandsworth Common.
Richardson also joined the team in February 2017, working in our Kensington, Kew Gardens and Wimbledon pools. His gentle, fun and patient approach to his lessons has made him extremely popular with both children and parents alike!
Staff Member of the year for 2018 went to the one who pays our salaries: CHERYL HARVEY
Cheryl’s dry wit and fun nature has been a welcome addition to the office team since November 2015. As the office and finance manager, she is an integral cog in the SwimWay machine. She shows excellent leadership in her daily duties, while also providing solid support to the rest of the office staff. A well deserved award!
Sunset Boat Party
Following the awards, everyone bid farewell to the beautiful Thai Square, and meandered down to Putney Pier where the boat awaited!
SwimWay has had Boat Parties before, and they never get old. The 3 hour trip down the River Thames is phenominal! As the sun sets and casts an orange/yellow glow on the city, you can’t help but feel privileged to not only live in such a wonderful part of the world, but to also work with some of the best people. A truly excellent experience!
Upcoming Term
SwimWay is excited about the upcoming year starting on the w/c 3rd September 2018. But Summer isn’t quite finished yet! There are still holiday courses coming up in July and August before things quiet down, so don’t hesitate to contact us for more information:
