SwimWay Supports The Swim England #OpenOurPools Campaign

To say the least, the government announcement this week was extremely frustrating.  Allowing pubs and cinemas to open up to a maximum indoor capacity of 70 people, and not gyms or swimming pools seems extremely short-sighted. This is why SwimWay supports the Swim England #OpenOurPools Campaign.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Sign the Swim England petitionClick here to call on the Prime Minister to urgently review the decision not to allow swimming pools to reopen and to announce a date when pools may open again as soon as possible
  • Write to your MPDownload the Swim England template letter and send to your MP asking them to back the campaign to #OpenOurPools
  • Share the Swim England infographics – Show everyone you’re behind the Swim England #OpenOurPools campaign by sharing their social media graphics. Click here to download them
  • Pledge your support on social media – Swim England have created a number of social posts that you could use on your channels to encourage the Government to reconsider its decision not to allow pools to reopen from 4 July. Download them here

SwimWay’s Action Plan

Over the past month, we have worked extremely hard on our COVID-19 risk assessments, action plans and H&S policies for our summer holiday courses.  We are confident that we can safely proceed with our scheduled opening date (w/c 13th July).  SwimWay simply cannot be put in the same category as larger pool operators (such as leisure centres or gyms).

Our crash courses planned for the w/c 13th and 20th July will presently not be cancelled.

There is a clear case for our small operation inside private homes.  If we are unable to run lessons in July, we will, of course, offer the opportunity to reschedule bookings for any other future courses up until the end of August 2022.  Failing that, we will provide a refund if the alternative dates are not suitable.

Further Easing Of Restrictions

The government is openly talking about a further easing of restrictions around Mid-July.  We will keep our clients updated as usual.  There is apparently another announcement coming up next week.  When they eventually open up gyms hopefully, swimming pools will be included.

In the meantime, our sincerest thanks to all our valued clients for your continued understanding and support during these strange times.
