Our pool focus blogs have covered Wimbledon and Putney, as well as two of our three East Sheen venues – Gordon Avenue and Home Guard Club amongst others. Now we look to our third East Sheen venue – Sheen Mount School.
Previously we would only enjoy this wonderful pool during the Summer Term only. We were always so excited about teaching in this pool which used to be a heated open aid venue at Sheen Mount Primary School! Then SwimWay helped to kickstart a transformation to change the venue forever…
Transforming the outdoor Sheen Mount pool into an indoor facility had been a dream for the school for over 50 years. There were numerous proposals to build the housing and new facilities over this time. SwimWay had also been pushing for this since we started our partnership with the school around 2010.
Then in 2019, we all started seeing movement on the proposal. Since then, SwimWay worked closely with Mr Ian Hutchings, Marianne Paemen, the School Governors and PSA to make this dream a reality! Without them as well as Buckland Pools and the wonderful school parents, this would never have happened. See the video below to watch the wonderful transformation from outdoor to indoor pool!
We work closely with the school providing after-school and weekend public lessons, and instructors to run their regular school time lessons. We have kept up a fantastic working relationship with the school for a number of years now.
Parent & baby lessons run on Thursday and Friday mornings between 9:00am and 12:00pm. Our children’s programme runs Mondays to Fridays from 1.30pm to 6.30pm as well as Saturdays and Sundays between 9:00am and 6:00pm.
Free parking available on surrounding roads and it is a 15-minute walk to Mortlake Station. There are separate male/female facilities, toilets, and a poolside viewing area.
You can join us for term time and holiday lessons at our East Sheen, Sheen Mount School pool. It is an excellent location with brand new facilities and a warm, hospitable environment. Perfect for the children to learn and thrive in!
