3 Reasons SwimWay Closes for Two Weeks in August
Every August, SwimWay shuts all, or the majority of it’s pools for two weeks. There tends to be a demand for Holiday Crash Courses throughout the month, but we still insist on closing up shop for these two weeks every year. Here’s why…
1. A Well-Deserved Rest
Although we run term-time lessons along with the state school calendar, the majority of the SwimWay Team work through most school holidays. This is to not only ensure we provide our clients with plenty of opportunities for their children to swim term-time and holidays, but also to provide customer support when it is needed.
Our team can take at least these two weeks in August to rest up and prepare for the new school year ahead. However although the pools are closed, our lines stay open with reduced office staff available to take your calls as usual Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 2:30pm.
2. Swimming Pool Refurbishments
Needless to say that with any operation such as ours, work must constantly be done to keep the facilities up to our high standards.
Along with continuous upkeep and upgrades throughout the year, the two week pool closure over August provides us with an opportunity to undergo any major refurbishments/repairs to the pools that require it.
Many of our pool owners prefer to undertake these works themselves. But we also work in partnership with some of them, arranging full lists of works that are required for upkeep. Usually there are two or three venues that undergo minor to major refurbishments. All the other locations will undergo the usual cleaning, drainage, etc. that is expected to meet our required high standards, ready to go when we start the new term in September!
3. Pool Owners’ Time
One of the many things we value as a company is the relationships we build with the pool owners we have enjoyed long-term partnerships with. It is a delicate balance to run a large operation with children coming and going at a private house throughout the year. We ensure the most minimal impact possible on our pool owners’ day to day lives, and we are proud to say that we feel we accomplish this year after year. This is one of the reasons these professional relationships have lasted so long. The two-week break in August gives our pool owners some time away from the operation and day to day tasks involved in working with us. Any relationship requires nurture as well as space, and SwimWay provides both to our valued partners!
