Here is a picture of some of our team renewing their pool rescue awards. It is an 8-hour course for those renewing their qualification and includes a 2-hour independent assessment.

Initial Assessment and handling of an Unconscious casualty
Action for Vomiting and Recovery Position
Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Child Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Infant Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Intervention, Rescue and Emergency Action
Types of casualty
Poolside Rescue – using available rescue equipment
Types of entry
Water Rescues – Including in deepest part of the pool using contact and non-contact rescue skills
Getting the casualty out of the water
Recovery of unconscious casualty from the water with assistance including Rescue Breathing – in the water
Recovery of a submerged pupil from the bottom of the pool (use of a mannequin)
Management of Suspected Spinal Injury
Emergency Action Plan
Our experienced and hard working instructors participate in safety training 3 times a year, at the start of every term as well as renewing their pool rescue awards every 24 months.
